Oliver Blakey Wins StormX Invitational I

Ascensive Assets' very own Oliver Blakey crushed the competition at StormX Invitational's 111-entry debut, pocketing $183,150. Las Vegas's PokerGO Studio was where the magic happened on March 3, 2022 — a showdown of skill, strategy, and a little luck!

It wasn't just any poker night; this was an elite face-off with a $5,000 golden ticket to play. Nine sharp minds cashed in, proving their mettle at the felt.

The roster read like a who's who — Schulman, Hanks, Platt, Berkey, and the voice of the Octagon, Bruce Buffer. Even StormX's mastermind, Simon Yu, joined the fray alongside Hellmuth and Dwan. But the final bounty eluded them all, including Hellmuth, who bowed out to Ho's ace-high.

Maria Ho slashed her way to the last stand, only to exit with nine left. Her ace-ten was no match for Mei's dominating ace-king. Rosenkrantz waved goodbye in the eighth, with Zhang close behind in seventh. Williams, another poker pro, said farewell in sixth — all overpowered by Blakey's relentless drive.

Annihilating DJ Crypto and R. Dawg, Blakey blazed a trail to head-to-head glory against Hampton. Starting with an imposing lead, Blakey was unstoppable, sealing his triumph and snagging the StormX crown.

With seven-six in hand, Blakey outmaneuvered Hampton's king-four, flipping a lucky seven to edge ahead. One river card away from victory, Blakey dodged a royal defeat, clinching the title as StormX's first champion. Hampton, though outplayed, left a victor with $111,000.

Oliver Blakey didn't just win; he reigned supreme, setting the bar high for the next crypto-poker showdown!
