Richard Lee Wins StormX Invitational II

PokerGO Studio in Vegas held the electrifying StormX Invitational II, which took center stage on October 27, 2022. Richard Lee, the mastermind at Global Blockchain Innovative Capital, bested 130 entrants to clinch a cool $175,500.

Richard Lee became the winner of the StormX Invitational 2, joining Oliver Blakey as champion of the event.

An elite, invitation-only showdown, StormX Invitational II welcomed a blend of poker sharpshooters, crypto pioneers, and stars, all vying for supremacy in the $5,000 buy-in extravaganza. Nine titans progressed to the money-clinching final table.

Spotlighting the convergence of poker, crypto, and stardom, marquee names like Maria Ho, Bruce Buffer, and our StormX CEO & Cofounder, Simon Yu, graced the event. However, not all glitter turned to gold. Heavyweights like Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk began strongly but missed the money mark.

In a twist, poker ace Sashimi, renowned for her cash game appearances, was the first casualty at the final table, pocketing $17,750. A clash of pocket cards against Kacper Piotrowski sealed her fate. Crypto accounting maven Amir Marmar of JFDI Accountants and Ascensive Assets' Ben Middleton exited with $23,400 and $29,250, respectively. David Malka, the brain behind Truffle.VC endured a heartbreak in 6th, netting $35,100.

Fueling his meteoric rise, Richard Lee clashed with David Malka for a significant pot and then ousted Ethos.io's Shingo Lavine. Poker vlogging sensation Brad Owen had an impressive streak, but even he couldn't withstand Lee's onslaught, securing a notable $58,500.

As the final stages approached, Kacper Piotrowski bowed out, enriching his account by $81,900. This set the stage for a gripping heads-up: Richard Lee vs. Daniel "Tafo" Lee.

In an epic one-hand duel, Tafo's king-ten faced off against Richard's ace-queen. Fate favored Richard as a queen hit the board, anointing him the second-ever StormX Invitational Champion and bestowing Tafo with a $117,000 runner-up prize.
